In the United States alone there are over 2000 infants a year born with sickle cell disease. One out of every 12 African Americans has sickle cell trait and more than 100,000 African Americans are affected by sickle cell disease.  Although there are more than 3,500 children, adolescents, and adults living in Maryland with sickle cell disease, our local, state, and federal governments have yet to provide adequate funding for the comprehensive health care services that are necessary to pursue an optimal quality of life.


Mission - To promote the knowledge and understanding of Sickle Cell Disease as a health crisis and to advocate for people who are living with the disease.

Purpose - To inform and educate the community about Sickle Cell Disease and Trait. To actively advocate for people who are living with the disease.
